How To Breathe Life Into Your Home With Indoor Planters

Plants and indoor planters always work well in a home. It doesn’t matter if a living space is large or small there is a certain freshness that plants can bring to a room, a little bit of the outdoors, indoors!

Personally I have a preference for large plants and large indoor planters. In large rooms large plants can work well to fill space, for example banana plants and other tropical plants can give great height in a room with high or vaulted ceilings. Conversely, large plants with planters can also work well in smaller rooms, where they can act as a centerpiece or feature.

By using seasonal plants it is possible to achieve different feels in a room. Summer plants can make a room feel light and fresh in-keeping with the season, flowering plants work particularly well. In winter, when the days are shorter and it’s snowing outside plants with deeper coloured foliage can help give a room a cosy feel.

Apart from experimenting with the types of plants you use in your planters you can also experiment with grouping a number of planters together or using large planters with a number of different plants in.

Of course you don’t have to use plants at all, many designer planters are a feature in their own right. Also the come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials including ceramic, stone, wood, acrylic and marble. Consider the style of your living space and what material will work best. Often contrasting materials work well, if you have a room with a lot of wooden furniture and a wooden floor I would look to use stone or ceramic planters, on the other hand if you have a tiled floor wooden planters will look good.

Whatever you decide to go for, remember plants will never ever go out of style!
